For countless centuries, it was the task of the older men in the community to ‘take’ the boys out of the arms of their mothers and teach them how to be a man.
Somewhere along the way, older men in our world lost touch with their calling to steward the young men in the community. As a result, the youth of today have developed their own forms of initiation. The levels of these initiations run the gamut, from something as simple as skateboarding competitions to teen-violence and gang activity.
The young men in the community are crying out for adult role-models, mature, well-developed men who will make time for these boys as they travel their “Journey Into Manhood”. This period of a young man’s life is filled with uncertainty and fear. With the help of an adult man who sees him for who he is, the young man can become more conscious of his world…and of the tremendous potential that is awakening inside his being.
We know that a boy’s family, community and friends give him critical support and guidance. Our mission is to supplement that support and to give him opportunities not available in schools or other youth programs. Boys to Men is an engaging, innovative, and safe program that helps boys gain the skills and insights they need for their journey to manhood. We help boys:

Why Boys to Men?
There are men today who can serve as powerful role models, men who live with a deep and passionate commitment to their lives, their work, and their relationships. We believe that each boy can become such a man. We help boys equip themselves to get there.
We are a community of men and young men dedicated to helping the boys of our community travel their journey to manhood. By building a circle of friendship and trust, we support boys to discover their own individual strengths, talents, and gifts. Through a meaningful series of interactions, we work to inspire boys aged 10 - 17 and beyond to create lives of integrity and authenticity, and to develop a personal sense of mission.
Boys to Men staff create an environment of physical and emotional safety where boys can reach new levels of honesty and self-awareness. Through a series of exciting and challenging processes, boys learn for themselves lessons that will serve them for a lifetime. They emerge with new tools and techniques for communication and self-discovery, strong bonds of camaraderie and friendship, and a deepened and strengthened sense of trust and self-respect.
Whether a boy is confident on his path or struggling, he will find Boys to Men opens new opportunity—to develop more clarity, power, and zest for life as he walks the path to manhood.
